Tinkering Studio

The Tinkering Studio is a space for playful invention and exploration. Visitors of all ages can spend time working and playing with a variety of materials to create whatever their imaginations design. Guests are encouraged to slow down, become intensely engaged in the investigation of scientific wonders, and create. Visitors may experiment, test, and try again. With no right or wrong answers, the Tinkering Studio is a place of making, sharing, and learning.

Admission to the Tinkering Studio is free, thanks to the Arkansas Discovery Network and a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. Hours for the Studio vary from the normal open hours. Call to verify our times.

Patch Program

The Museum offers two patches for scout troops or other groups. As they work towards completing their patch, scavenger hunt worksheets guide students and adult leaders to learn more about the people of Northeast Arkansas.

Contact us today to book your troop or group, call 870-972-2074 or email us at museum@astate.edu.

The Early Arkansas: Ingenuity, Skills, Hard Work patch is designed to learn about farming and homesteading in Arkansas during the late 1800s and early 1900s.

With The Portals of the Soul, Ancient Peoples of Northeast Arkansas patch, individuals will learn about native peoples of Northeast Arkansas.
