Guided Tours

Guided tours are by reservation only with a minimum of 1 week notice. Because of staffing, groups over 90 individuals will be asked to split their visit over a few days.

Self-Guided Groups

Groups are welcome to tour the museum on their own. We kindly request that groups over 10 people make a reservation to avoid any conflicts during our busy season. This will ensure that you have the best possible experience.

Traveling Suitcase Exhibits

A-State Museum offers suitcase exhibits designed to enhance classroom and other group learning experiences. Classroom teachers, senior group facilitators, and even homeschool co-op coordinators can book time with these fun and educational portable “exhibits.”

Created to cover a specific topic like the Arkansas Frontier or Native Americans in NEA, each kit includes hands-on materials, visual aids, and lesson plans designed to help facilitators.

Traveling Suitcase Exhibits (TSE) are available at no charge for a 2-week period.

To view TSE options, visit our Knowledge Base, email us at museum@astate.edu, or call 870-972-2074 to speak with our educator.

Tinkering Studio

The Tinkering Studio is a space for playful invention and exploration for visitors of all ages. This open-ended play-based learning space allows participants to invent whatever their imaginations design using materials found within the space. Often, there are proctored themes that encourage visitors to slow down, solve problems, and investigate a particular idea. With no right or wrong answers, the Tinkering Studio is a place of making, sharing, and learning.

Hours for the Tinkering Studio vary. Call 870-972-2074 to verify open hours for this space

Patch Program

The A-State Museum offers two patches for scout troops or other groups. Scavenger hunt worksheets guide students and adult leaders to learn more about the people of Northeast Arkansas. Participants are tasked to deeply engage with the objects and narratives within the museum galleries as they work to complete the requirements to earn their patch.

The Early Arkansas: Ingenuity, Skills, Hard Work patch uses a scavenger hunt to tell the story of farming and homesteading in Arkansas during the late 1800s and early 1900s.

The Portals of the Soul, Ancient Peoples of Northeast Arkansas patch encourages individuals to complete a scavenger hunt to learn about native peoples of Northeast Arkansas.

Contact our educator today to book your troop or group. Call 870-972-2074 or email us at museum@astate.edu.
