Lakeport Plantation Museum

Discover the Stories That Shaped the Delta
The Lakeport Plantation Museum house, built in 1859 along the Mississippi River in Chicot County, Arkansas, stands as one of the Delta’s premiere historic structures. Remarkably preserved with many original features intact, Lakeport Plantation Museum offers a rare window into plantation life before and after the Civil War. Now cared for by Arkansas State University, the site shares powerful stories of slavery, sharecropping, and the Johnson family through our guided tours and award‑winning exhibits.
