At A-State, the College of Nursing & Health Professions prepares students to go into
their communities and help people. Whether you want to help athletes recover from
serious injuries, analyze samples to help diagnose, or show a family their first ultrasound,
there are many ways to do that. We'll prepare you for emotionally rewarding careers
where you make a difference in people's lives every day.

them. With a wide range of healthcare careers, you can work with everything from blood
samples to the most advanced technological equipment in the world. We have expert,
experienced staff in smaller classes who are invested in their students, meaning you

Dr. Stacy Walz
— Interim Dean
Dr. Walz holds multiple awards from the ASCLS and has extensive experience in hematology/coagulation,
immunohematology, and laboratory management. She serves on the ASCLS national committee
on patient safety and has research interests in clinical laboratories' influence on
patient safety initiatives and lab testing quality.

Health Professions prepares students to lead in many healthcare roles. From assisting
therapies, running tests, or becoming a medical provider, we have a degree in the

Learn to care for athletic injury and promote recovery, on and off the field.
From sustaining to preventing injuries, you'll be able to help athletes with specialize
care to promote their recovery and prevent the next one.
Study the pathology of communications, and how to support those disorders.
Whether its developmental or from a traumatic injury, you'll learn to support communication
disorders and lead people to a better quality of life.
Improve the wellbeing of the communities around you through.
Learn to better the communities around you by promoting public health, teaching proper
nutrition habits, or preparing to effectively lead in crisis or emergency situations.
Learn to conduct and read results of lab tests or medical imaging.
Whether reading blood test results or x-rays, you'll learn the many ways to save lives
by helping provide accurate diagnoses in medical imaging or laboratory sciences.
Stand at the forefront of compassionate healthcare.
Assist doctors in administering medicine, surgery, and providing compassionate care
to promote the recovery of those around you in hospitals, clinics, as a travel nurse,
and more.
Learn to restore lost motor functions used in everyday tasks.
You'll help others regain their independence through holistic plans of care. From
assisting doctors to becoming one, you will improve the mental, physical, and emotional
wellbeing of those affected by a loss of motor functions or ability to perform daily
tasks.
Learn hands-on-care to improve mobility and pain.
Work with patients to promote healthy recovery through proper exercises and equipment.
Whether its for surgery recovery or teaching someone to walk again, you will see the
results of your help, every day.
Protect a community in need.
By helping children through foster care or protecting others from mental, physical,
and emotionally environments, social workers protect and save the lives of children
and adults every day.
Helping families that have current or past military service.
We help veterans and their families find the support they need for rehabilitation,
education, or other services around the community.
