UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMS
A-State gave me the opportunity to finish the degree I started back in 1995. What was supposed to be a one-year break turned into a 27-year gap. But thanks to the support of the staff, advisors, and the financial aid and scholarship teams, the goal I set out to accomplish in 1995 is finally becoming a reality.

Academic Success Center
The Academic Success Center provides academic support, educational programs and learning opportunities for all student-athletes and aid them in their academic, athletic and personal development.
Advising at Arkansas State University is here to help you make a plan, stay on track,
and reach your goals. From progress check-ins to extra support, your advisor is a
go-to guide for your academic journey.
First-Year Experience
The First-Year Experience program helps students navigate the transition from high
school to college, equipping them with the skills and resources for academic and personal
success.
Learning Support Services offers resources and guidance to help students thrive academically.
Through tutoring, study strategies and individualized support, we assist you.
Nontraditional Studies
The Department of Nontraditional Studies provides distinctive learning opportunities
for students who 1.) prefer a customized major as opposed to a traditional major,
2.) are preparing for a graduate/professional program which transcends the scope of
an undergraduate course of study across a single academic discipline, or 3.) are focused
on personal or career achievement through degree completion. In addition, Nontraditional
Studies provides academic avenues to enrich the undergraduate academic experience
beyond the traditional classroom through a variety of experiential and prior learning
opportunities.
Student Support Services (SSS) is a comprehensive program designed to promote retention
and academic success in college. SSS provides participants with academic and support
services in a caring environment that seeks to ensure their successful completion
of a baccalaureate degree at Arkansas State University.
Through enriched coursework, mentorship, and a community of high-achieving peers,
we help you explore big ideas, pursue meaningful inquiry, and develop the skills to
lead with purpose.
Transition Studies
Transition Studies provides a warm and supportive environment for a successful transition
to the University and is the academic home for students whose test scores and high
school grade-point average indicate that they should be admitted to the university
but do not meet the requirements for unconditional admission to Arkansas State.
University Advising and Transfer Success Center
The University Advising and Transfer Success Center works collaboratively with the campus community to provide a quality advising experience for students and faculty at Arkansas State University. Services include: primary advising for exploratory majors, intrusive advising for students in academic distress, and advisor training for faculty.
