SOCIOLOGY AND CRIMINOLOGY CLUB

We are committed to building strong interpersonal relationships within our club and within our local community. Our goal is to create a more sustainable world and be better than we were yesterday. Members host discussion panels and guest speakers related to sociological and criminological topics, engage in community service projects, and participate in a range of fun social events.

ALPHA KAPPA DELTA

Alpha Kappa Delta is the international honor society for Sociology. Alpha Kappa Delta focuses on scholarship, fellowship, and leadership.

The Beta Chapter of Alpha Kappa Delta, here at A-State, sponsors many activities for students, such as faculty/student celebrations, the annual research symposium, and various other scholastic activities.

ALPHA PHI SIGMA

Alpha Phi Sigma recognizes academic excellence of Undergraduate and Graduate students of Criminal Justice, as well as Juris Doctorate students.

The goals of Alpha Phi Sigma are to honor and promote academic excellence, community service, educational leadership, and unity. Alpha Phi Sigma is the only Criminal Justice Honor Society which is a certified member of the Association of College Honor Societies and affiliated with the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.

By their junior year, our students have the opportunity to intern with a wide range of organizations, including:

  • Social Services
  • Federal Agencies
  • Youth Services
  • Juvenile Justice Programs

  • Victim Advocacy Groups
  • Legal Offices



To qualify for an internship, you must meet the following requirements:

  • At least a 5th-semester student
  • Completed introductory courses in your major
  • Minimum GPA of 2.5
  • Responsible and eager to learn
  • No prior experience required!
