CUSI Coding Camp

Location:  CSM 203

Arkansas State University, with support from Continental Utility Solutions, Inc. (CUSI) of Jonesboro, will host a week-long coding camp for students who are rising 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th graders for the upcoming year, 2022-2023. This camp will be offered during the week of June 13th-17th as a “day” camp only from 8 AM to 5 PM each day, or as a residential (overnight lodging on campus) on July 11th-15th from 8AM to 5PM with fun, evening activities. This camp will be offered first as a “Day” camp from June 13th-17th, then again as a residential camp (overnight lodging on campus) from July 11th-15th. The camp will host participants each week at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. Join your peers as we embark on a programming adventure and learn the fundamentals of computer programming. The camp will focus on creating a hands-on programming experience and introduce participants to the many facets of computer programming. Learn how to apply programming to problems in many different disciplines. Programmable Tello EDU drones will be used to provide a platform for learning the Python 3.7 programming language. Need-based scholarships are available. Students will be accepted in the order they register.

Engineering Boot Camp

Time: 8 am – 5 pm

Location: LSW 236

Arkansas State University will host a week-long project-based engineering boot camp for students who are rising 10th 11th, 12th graders for the upcoming year, 2022-2023. This camp will be offered during the week of June 13th-17th as a “day” camp only from 8 AM to 5 PM each day, or as a residential (overnight lodging on campus) on July 11th-15th from 8AM to 5PM with fun, evening activities. Both camps will host participants on campus at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro. During the camp, learn how engineering systems are developed, understand the mechanics of modeling and create your ideas with 3D printers. Investigate how robots are used to solve problems, then construct your own robotic masterpiece. Campers will learn about hands-on experimentation, SolidWorks and programmable logic controllers (PLCs). Part of the camp will involve visits to a manufacturing facility as well as interactions with industry experts. Participants will work as part of a team on projects, and gain exposure to not only engineering skills but team building skills as well. Scholarships are available. Students will be accepted in the order they register.
