Biography

Sara Walker is the Program Director of the Emergency Medical Services Program at Arkansas State University.  The EMS program falls under the Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management program. Sara holds degrees from Arkansas State University (BA in History and MS in Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management). 

Sara has been active in the field of EMS as a paramedic for over 16 years.  She has extensive experience on both the air ambulance and ground ambulance.   Sara holds credentials as an EMS Instructor, Basic Life Support (BLS) Instructor, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Instructor, National Disaster Life Support (NDLSF) Instructor, and Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS). 

Sara is a member of several EMS organizations, such as Arkansas EMT Association (AEMTA), National Association of EMT (NAEMT), and National Association of Emergency Medical Services Educators (NAEMSE). 

Sara volunteers as a soccer, basketball, t-ball and baseball coach with Jonesboro City Stars, Jonesboro Baseball Association, and Valley View.  Sara remains active in EMS as a part time paramedic in Jonesboro.
