Biography

Ben has experience in governmental disaster preparedness and emergency management in Canada and the United States.  He served at the Canadian Low-level radioactive waste management office in Toronto, Canada from 1991 to 1995 with experience in response, recovery, and mitigation of low-level radioactive remediation projects.   He also worked with the United States Army Corps of Engineers as a consultant in Jacksonville, Florida from 1999 to 2002 where he gained experience in natural disaster preparedness, response, recovery, and mitigation specifically in hurricane disasters.  Prior to pursuing a career in teaching, he worked also as a senior data science manager for US Marine Corps Logistics Base in Albany Ga.  Ben has 10 years of experience in academia with experience in public health both in the United States and International institutions.
