Biography

Dr. Sandy King began her nursing career as a Licensed Practical Nurse in December 2013, working in a long-term care facility. After earning her RN the following year, she practiced in a rural Arkansas hospital, providing care on both the Labor and Delivery and Medical-Surgical floors. She later returned to long-term care as Director of Nursing, where she served for five years and developed and instructed Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training programs. In December 2020, she earned her Master of Science in Nursing with a Family Nurse Practitioner specialization from Walden University. Her clinical work in family practice evolved to include a focus on addiction treatment across the lifespan. She completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice at Arkansas State University in December 2023 and now teaches in the DNP program, specializing in guiding students through their doctoral projects. Dr. Sandy King combines extensive clinical experience with a passion for advancing nursing education and improving patient outcomes.
