Biography

Sara Damron, DNP, APRN, AGACNP-BC is an assistant professor of nursing and AGACNP program option coordinator at Arkansas State University (ASU). She obtained her BSN from ASU in 2011 and her DNP from the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in 2017. Her clinical experience includes serving as a hospitalist at a critical access and rural facility, fulfilling the medical needs of an inpatient psychiatric unit, working as an intensivist in neuro and medical ICUs, and covering an employee urgent care clinic. She currently serves as an item writer for the AGACNP certification exam administered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She previously served 4 years as the treasurer for Arkansas Nurse Practitioner Association and continues to serve on the education committee. In December of 2022, Sara Damron was granted Full Practice Authority by the Arkansas State Board of Nursing; amongst the first 60 NPs in Arkansas to be able to practice without a collaborative physician.
