Research at ABI

The A-State Arkansas Biosciences Institute’s research activities are currently dedicated to four key areas: Bioinformatics, Health Sciences, Environmental and Health-Focused Plant Innovation, and Engineering.

Bioinformatics

Data mining human pathology databases to gain insights into diseases and develop new therapies. Exploring databases of the genetic and molecular interactions of microbial communities impacting soybean health to improve crop management strategies.

Environmental and Health-focused Plant Innovation

We are committed to advancing plant sciences through both field and lab research. In the field, we focus on improving crop growth and resilience to abiotic stresses in Arkansas's Delta region. In the lab, we use biotechnology to develop valuable molecules and therapeutic proteins, striving for a safer and more cost-effective platform. This integrated approach significantly enhances human health and food security.
