New Web Portal Welcomes Students to Apply for Privately Funded Scholarships

10/04/2023

JONESBORO – Arkansas State University’s Privately Funded Scholarship Portal is now open for students planning to attend A-State during the 2024-25 academic year.

“This portal is a one-stop application that will make each student a candidate for a portion of more than $1 million in privately funded scholarships,” explained Aimee McDonald, senior director of Advancement Services. “These scholarships are offered each year to current and incoming Red Wolves.”

Students are encouraged to be as detailed as possible on the application. GPA is not the only factor considered in awarding privately funded scholarships; the array of criteria can include residency in a particular county, extracurricular activities, academic major, or career ambition. Some scholarships are specified for single parents, minorities, and children of A-State alumni.

“Every student has a unique story. Through the generous donations of alumni, businesses and community members, we are able to offer these scholarships to ease the financial burden of each recipient’s educational journey,” McDonald added.

The scholarship portal is online at AState.edu/PrivateScholarships. The deadline for completed applications is Thursday, Feb. 1, 2024.  Candidate review for each scholarship program will begin after the portal closes.

Students may direct their questions to PrivateScholarships@AState.edu for assistance with the process and to obtain more details.
