Museum presents newest hands-on exhibition: Design Zone!

08/14/2014

JONESBORO – In "Design Zone," visitors will discover how videogame developers, music producers, roller coaster designers, and other creative problem solvers use math to invent exciting experiences.

What does it take to create an interactive and fun videogame?  How many beats per second does a DJ need to get bodies moving on the dance floor?  What goes into creating a roller coaster or a skate park that produces the most fun and biggest thrills?

"Design Zone" is now open at Arkansas State University Museum, and it continues through December, according to Jill Kary, curator of education.

Developed by OMSI (http://www.omsi.edu), Design Zone is presented at ASU Museum thanks to the Carl E. and Florence B. King Foundation and the Arkansas Discovery Network, a statewide museum consortium funded by the Donald W. Reynolds Foundation.

For tour information, interested individuals may visit the Museum website (http://www.AState.edu/Museum) or contact Paige Creed or Jill Kary at (870) 972-2074.  The Museum is also on Facebook, http://facebook.com/ASUMuseum.
