A-State Schedule for Holiday Break, Dec. 22 -- Jan. 2

JONESBORO – Arkansas State University offices are closed Monday, Dec. 22, through Friday, Jan. 2, for the annual holiday break.  This schedule applies to A-State’s Paragould site as well.

Campus offices will reopen on Monday, Jan. 5.  Spring semester classes at A-State will begin on Monday, Jan. 12.  Residence halls will re-open to students at 9 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 9.

Red Wolves Athletics

Tickets to the GoDaddy Bowl, in which the Red Wolves football team plays on Sunday, Jan. 4, may be ordered online up to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at astate.edu/a/tickets/.

Arkansas State hosts Marshall at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20, in men’s basketball at the Convocation Center.  The Red Wolves’ women’s basketball team faces Florida Gulf Coast on Monday, Dec. 22, at 7:05 p.m.  A-State’s Sun Belt Conference season opener is Saturday, Jan. 3, a double-header with Appalachian State starting at 3:05 for the women; 7:05 for the men.

NEA Tournament

One of the major events on campus during the holiday break will be the 68th annual Northeast Arkansas Invitational High School Basketball Tournament at the Convocation Center.  Tournament dates are Tuesday, Dec. 23; Friday and Saturday, Dec. 26-27; and Monday through Wednesday, Dec. 29-31.

Central Box Office

The Box Office in the Convocation Center also will operate on its holiday schedule, opening during the A-State basketball games on Saturday, Dec. 20, and Monday, Dec. 22; from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Dec. 23, 26, 29-30; and during the NEA Basketball Tournament.

The Box Office also will be set up at the team hotel in Mobile, 3-6 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2, and 1-5 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, and at Ladd-Peebles Stadium at 5 p.m. on Jan. 4.

Dean B. Ellis Library

The Dean B. Ellis Library will be open from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, Dec. 22-23 and Dec. 29-30, for the convenience of students and faculty.  In addition, the library will provide access to all online library resources at  AState.edu/Library/ throughout the break.

Johnny Cash Boyhood Home

The Historic Dyess Colony: Boyhood Home of Johnny Cash at Dyess will be open regular hours, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday, with the exception of Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.  A-State Heritage Sites at Piggott and Tyronza will follow the university’s closing schedule.

Dean B. Ellis Library
