daily operations. Focused on student success, academic excellence and community engagement,
the office works with campus leaders to move A-State forward.
The Leader of the Pack
As Interim Chancellor, Dr. Calvin White, Jr. leads the Arkansas State during a period of unprecedented momentum in enrollment, research, academic innovation and student success. A respected scholar and proven academic leader, White has dedicated his career to expanding opportunity through higher education.

Following Arkansas State's 34-28 victory in the 2025 Xbox Bowl, Dr. White congratulates
members of The Sound of the Natural State for their outstanding performance. From
academics to athletics, he champions the experiences that make A-State feel like home.

Commencement represents the ultimate measure of student success. Under Dr. White's
academic leadership, Arkansas State's six-year graduation rate increased 8.7 percentage
points between Spring 2022 and Spring 2025, with several student populations improving
by more than 20 percentage points.

Dr. Calvin White accepts a national recognition on behalf of Arkansas State, celebrating
the university's distinction of producing more Army officers per capita than any other
institution in the nation. The honor reflects A-State's longstanding commitment to
developing leaders through its ROTC program.

Dr. Calvin White built his career as a professor of history. His commitment to teaching
and scholarship continues to shape his leadership, grounded in the belief that strong
relationships with faculty are essential to student success and academic excellence.

Dr. White signs the ceremonial beam for Windgate Hall of Art and Innovation, marking
another step in Arkansas State's commitment to providing innovative spaces where students
can learn, create and thrive.
