Most academic departments select one (more than one only in very special cases) graduating senior (August, December, or May) in each of the degrees the department grants to receive the department award for that degree. Selection should involve both academic record (GPA must be 3.0 or higher) and activities within and contributions to the department.
Eligibility & Selection
Department Awards are nominated by the department chairs. Award recipients must have a 3.0 or higher GPA.
Awardees are named at each college's awards ceremony during Convocation of Scholars month, in April of each year.
