JONESBORO – Tickets for the second annual benefit concert at the Johnny Cash Heritage Festival go on sale to the general public Friday, May 4, at 10 a.m. at the Arkansas State University Box Office, First National Bank Arena, (lower red entrance), 217 Olympic Drive. The festival will be held Oct. 18-20 (Thursday through Saturday) in Dyess.

All reserved seating at the Saturday afternoon concert will be $100 plus applicable fees, and general admission seats are $35 plus fees. The artists lineup will be announced when tickets go on sale.

Grammy award-winning producer and performer John Carter Cash will serve as host. Events are in the cotton fields surrounding the Johnny Cash Boyhood home and in the Dyess Colony Circle. It extends beyond music to feature world-renowned artists on the main stage and local musicians on smaller stages in the colony center, as well as educational presentations, exhibits and local crafts. The academic theme for the festival is “The Ties That Bind.”

Following music events in Arkansas State University’s First National Bank Arena from 2011-14, a new festival format was established in 2017.

Prior to last year’s festival, Dr. Ruth Hawkins, director of the Arkansas State University Heritage Sites program, noted the event would become a true festival by extending from a one-evening concert event to a three-day event that includes both educational and entertainment components. She also stated that the Heritage Studies Ph.D. program would coordinate the educational/academic events with overall coordination through Arkansas State University Heritage Sites.
