JONESBORO – The university community extends sympathy to the family, friends and former colleagues of Dr. Robert (Bob) Ferralasco of Jonesboro, who died Tuesday, Jan. 16.

Ferralasco joined Arkansas State University’s faculty in 1952. When he concluded his 37-year career at A-State in 1989, he was named emeritus professor administrative services and chair of the Department of Computer Information Systems and Administrative Services, in the Griffin College of Business.

During the university's Centennial Celebration in 2009-10, Ferralasco was honored by the Faculty Association as one of the “First 100 Distinguished Faculty” of the institution because of his record of achievement and contributions to the institution’s academic advancement.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda, two daughters, and their families. A graveside service is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 25. Details are in the obituary.

The university will light the clock tower of the Dean B. Ellis Library scarlet Thursday evening in memorial tribute to Ferralasco and his contributions to Arkansas State University and higher education.
