ROTC to Host Howler Obstacle Run, Sept. 27

JONESBORO – On Saturday, Sept. 27, Arkansas State University’s ROTC program will host the second annual Howler Obstacle Run.

The race will start at 1 p.m. by the Military Science Building, 1921 Aggie Rd.

Participants can sign up online at AState.edu/Howler or on-site the morning of the race. Registration begins at 11 a.m.

Runners will receive a t-shirt while supplies last, with priority to those who pre-register online.

The Howler started in 2013 as fundraiser for A-State's ROTC Program in the Department of Military Science. Members of the program are now preparing for the second edition on Saturday.

The course is roughly seven miles long with 12 or more obstacles along the course. Obstacles include tire flip, arctic dumpster dive, hay bale walls, pond trudge, and more.

Race entry fees are $25 per person or $100 for a group of five. Participants can sign up and pay the morning of the race.
