JONESBORO – Arkansas State University will host its 2023 Summer Commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 12, at First National Bank Arena, 217 Olympic Drive. 

Chancellor Todd Shields will confer degrees to more than 900 graduating students from the university's eight colleges.Graduates will represent Agriculture, Neil Griffin College of Business, Education and Behavioral Science, Engineering and Computer Science, Liberal Arts and Communication, Nursing and Health Professions, Sciences and Mathematics, and University College. Graduates will receive doctoral, specialist, master, bachelor and associate degrees.Mary Caitlyn Fincher of Dyess will be the featured speaker representing the graduating class. Fincher, graduating summa cum laude, will receive a Bachelor of Science degree in exercise science from the College of Education and Behavioral Science.

Doors for the ceremony will open at 8:30 a.m. Guests are encouraged to allow plenty of time for reaching the campus and for parking. In addition to the arena, parking will be available at Tomlinson Stadium, Fowler Center, and Centennial Bank Stadium. Parking on the grass is not permitted. A parking map is available online.Graduates and guests can enter the arena through the red and yellow entrances. Graduates are asked to arrive one hour prior to the beginning of the ceremony and will be seated alphabetically and by college.A-State’s standard clear bag policy will be in effect. Only clear bags will be permitted and all bags are subject to a search. It is recommended that guests allow extra time for this process.For those who cannot attend in person, a livestream of the commencement ceremony will be available online at AState.edu/Livestream.
