KASU Radio to Host its Spring 2025 Fun(d) Drive to Support Programming

02/26/2025

JONESBORO – KASU 91.9 FM, the public media service of Arkansas State University, is holding its Spring Fun(d) Drive beginning Monday, March 3, with the on-air portion of the drive running March 12-14. KASU is celebrating its 68th birthday this year. KASU signed on the air May 17, 1957, and is the oldest NPR member station in Arkansas.

This year's goal is $30,000. One may donate beginning Monday by calling (870) 972-2200. Donations can be made online anytime at KASU.org/give or by downloading the KASU mobile app.

KASU listeners become members by making financial contributions to the non-commercial educational station.

“There has never been a better time to support public radio and KASU. KASU listeners, and underwriters, consistently support the station they love, helping us to sustain the programming they love. We appreciate their support, and it is more important than ever before in these uncertain times,” said Mark Smith, KASU station manager.

“We look forward to engaging with our listeners during the Spring Fun(d) Drive and feel confident they will continue to help us bring the local community the music, news, arts, and views they enjoy. These drives are more important than they have ever been to the overall fiscal success of the station, and we appreciate the support in keeping KASU strong in 2025 and beyond,” he added.

Grants help pay for programming and supplement the operating expenses of the station.

KASU is Arkansas’ oldest non-commercial public radio station, operating since 1957. The station has been an NPR member station since 1971. In addition to locally produced news and music programs, KASU pays to receive programming from NPR, American Public Media, and other sources.

KASU accepts membership contributions at any time. Listeners may call (870) 972-2200 during regular business hours, Monday through Friday. More information, including ways to donate, can be found at kasu.org or its Facebook page
