Friends of Music to Sponsor 'Howl-O-Ween Friendzy' Benefit

10/21/2016

JONESBORO – The Howl-O-Ween Friendzy is the second annual benefit event for the Friends of Music at Arkansas State University.  It will be a fun musical show appropriate for all ages with the theme of “The Addams Family.” The evening will include performances by faculty, students and community members.  There also will be contests with prizes, games and spooky fun.  All proceeds will go toward music scholarships.

This event will be Thursday, Oct. 27, beginning at 6:30 p.m. in Fowler Center’s Grand Ballroom and Riceland Hall.  General admission is $15 for the public and $5 for students.  Tickets are available at the door; visitors are encouraged to come early and enjoy games and music.

The evening will include three contests: a Howling contest, a dance contest and a costume competition.  For those who wish to enter, one can sign up during the 6:30 p.m. hour in the Grand Hall, or they can enter during the concert starting at 7:30 p.m.

"A-State music students are deserving of more support and Friends of Music is designed to assist.  This group is essentially a booster club comprised of dedicated music lovers," a department spokesman said.  "All efforts are for A-State music students' benefit.  Friends of Music will not only serve to raise funds for scholarships and other student needs, but also increase public awareness of music events."

The commitment of this organization reflects the A-State mission, educating the community, enhancing the experience of music students on campus, and enriching the lives of those who come to know music at A-State.

For more information about this concert or any other A-State music event, one may contact the Music Department at (870) 972-2094.
