Food Distribution set for Friday at Tomlinson Stadium
JONESBORO – The Food Pantry at Arkansas State University and the Food Bank of Northeast Arkansas are partnering to host a food distribution from the USDA coronavirus food assistance program.
The distribution will be Friday, June 5, from 2 - 5 p.m. or while supplies last, on the parking lot at Tomlinson Stadium, with access from Olympic Dr.
The distribution will include pre-packed produce boxes, and pre-packed, pre-cooked chicken boxes. There are no income qualifications required and recipients do not have to be a part of the A-State community.
Food Pantry volunteers will set up drive-through stations on the parking lot. As cars arrive at the distribution site, a volunteer will approach the vehicle at a safe distance to record for data collection purposes the A-State ID number (if applicable), number in the household, and any additional needs the recipients may have.
The food boxes will be placed into the trunk of the recipient’s vehicle or on the pavement, from which the recipient can pick it up and put it into the vehicle.
Volunteers assisting with the distribution will observe social distancing guidelines and wear face coverings and gloves.
