JONESBORO – Fall Faculty Conference will bring members of the academic community together Wednesday to formally start the 2019-20 year at Arkansas State University.

Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor Alan Utter will welcome the faculty to the conference, which is hosted each year by the Division of Academic Affairs and Research.  Utter, who assumed his current role with A-State on July 1, also will conclude the morning's activities with a presentation.

System President Charles L. Welch and Chancellor Kelly Damphousse also will address the gathering, along with Executive Vice Chancellor Len Frey and Faculty Association President Loretta McGregor.

After breakfast and coffee at 8:30 a.m., the conference program gets underway at 9:30 a.m. and adjourns for lunch at 11:45.

New faculty will attend orientation Tuesday.  College and departmental meetings are scheduled for Thursday and Friday across campus.

Residents of campus housing will arrive for "operation move-in" Saturday, Aug. 17, beginning at 9 a.m.  Sorority bids will be revealed beginning at 10 a.m.

Several student service offices will be open during move-in day from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. for the convenience of students and their families who need to meet with staff.  Open offices will be Registrar, Treasurer, Financial Aid, Residence Life and Advising Center.  Parking Services will be open 9‑12.

All A-State students are welcome to attend the "welcome back bash" that evening from 7 until 9 at the Red WOLF Center.

All incoming new students and their parents are invited to the First-Year Convocation Sunday, Aug. 18, at 1 p.m. in First National Bank Arena, as the academic community welcomes the newest class of learners.

During the first week of classes, Aug. 19-22, the student services offices will stay open until 6 p.m., for students’ convenience.
