Ellis Library Clock Tower Lightings Will Celebrate A-State and Area Grads

04/26/2023

JONESBORO – During the month of May, Arkansas State University will light the clock tower of Dean B. Ellis Library in recognition of graduating students.

The tower will be scarlet Saturday evening, May 6, for new A-State graduates following Spring Commencement ceremonies earlier that day in First National Bank Arena. During the previous evening, Friday, May 5, the tower will be green in honor of those commissioned for military service through the ROTC program of the Department of Military Science.

As various local high schools conduct their graduation ceremonies, many of them on the A-State campus, the clock tower will be lighted in a school color on or near the day of graduation.

Wynne High School is the most recent addition to the list, having moved its graduation ceremony to FNB Arena after the school's facilities were severely damaged by a tornado on March 31.

The scheduled tower lightings for the high schools are:

– Blue for Valley View High, Sunday, May 7

– Gold for Jonesboro High School, Monday, May 8

– Red for Brookland High, Tuesday, May 9

– Purple for Bay High, Thursday, May 11

– Gold for Nettleton High, Friday, May 12

– Green for Ridgefield Christian School, Saturday, May 13

– Blue for Paragould High, Monday, May 15

– Red for East Poinsett County High, Tuesday, May 16

– Green for Greene County Tech, Friday, May 19
