Early Childhood Educators to Gather for Three-Day Professional Development Event

07/28/2023

JONESBORO – Arkansas State University Childhood Services will host its annual statewide Early Childhood Education Conference Tuesday morning through noon Thursday, Aug. 1-3, at the Embassy Suites Red Wolf Convention Center on the A-State campus.

“Nearly 400 participants, presenters, and exhibitors will gather for this conference,” stated JoAnn Nalley, director of Childhood Services. “This diverse group represents the monumental dedication and passion with which each of our colleagues serves the children and families of Arkansas.”

Early educators from across the state will gather for the conference, which A-State has sponsored for more than 50 years, to share, think and learn as they gain inspiration for a new school year.

This year’s conference features three general sessions with nationally known speakers, more than 40 interest sessions, and a fun fair that invites early educators to explore new ideas for building relationships and planning learning experiences.

Carol Aghayan, one of the keynote speakers, is co-author of numerous publications including “Easy Songs for Smooth Transitions in the Classroom,” “The Coach's Guide to the Creative Curriculum for Preschool,” and “Mighty Minutes for Preschool.”

“Children’s prior experiences shape their current and future development and learning. And that’s true for us as educators,” Nalley added. “The Early Childhood Education Conference provides a time to celebrate our colleagues’ professional achievements and renew our commitment to strengthening our practice.”
