College of Business Students to Host Sixth International Business Exhibition

JONESBORO — Food and culture are the focused topics of the sixth international business exhibition at Arkansas State University, Tuesday, March 7, from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. in Centennial Hall at the Carl R. Reng Student Union, 101 N. Caraway Road. The event is free and open to the public.

Kagome, an international company that globally produces vegetable oil-based food products along with sauces, is located in Osceola. Two of the staff members, Director for Human Resources and Safety Nita Reams and food scientist Daryn Johnson are the key speakers.

In addition, A-State students will prepare over 21 dishes from around the world at booths representing India, South Korea, Belgium, Japan, Honduras, Italy, Austria, Bangladesh and others.

Those who have a local business and are interested in internationalizing can listen to James Aardappel, director of the U.S. Commercial Service. He will speak at 12:30 p.m.

Along these same lines, at 1 p.m., Melvin Torres, director of the World Trader Center Arkansas, will provide knowledge of doing business in Latin America. Business owners can also learn about adding businesses in emerging markets like Peru, India, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, South Africa, Nigeria and Nepal until 2:30 p.m.
