College of Agriculture Announces Top Graduating Students for 2024-25

JONESBORO – The College of Agriculture at Arkansas State University recognized its outstanding students for the 2024-25 academic year during Convocation of Scholars, according to Dr. Mickey LaTour, dean.

The Chancellor’s Scholar Award for the highest overall GPA in the college was presented to Zackery Holloway of Griffithville, who is completing a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) degree with a major in agricultural business. He is now in the accelerated master’s program in agricultural business.

The Outstanding Graduating Senior awards were presented as follows:

— Hannah Kimmer of Batesville, BSA, agricultural business;

— DeAnna Walker of Pocahontas, BSA, agricultural education;

— Cora Hicks of Cabot, BSA, agricultural studies;

— Claudia Rector of Jonesboro, BSA, animal science; and

— Emily Culp of Marianna, BSA, plant and soil science.

Nikki Arivel Larazo of Jonesboro won the award as the most outstanding graduate student. She is completing a Master of Science in Agriculture (MSA) with a concentration in plant and soil science. 

The Olen P. Nail Outstanding Junior Award was presented to Hunter Mitchell of Jonesboro, who is majoring in agricultural business, with a minor in accounting.
