Bradbury Art Museum to Close Temporarily

03/19/2020

JONESBORO – Effective immediately, Bradbury Art Museum will not be open for visitors or tour groups as part of the university's response to the national coronavirus pandemic.

This is one of the steps the university is taking in response to federal Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommendations aimed at reducing or eliminating the spread of COVID-19.

Garry Holstein, director of the Museum, said the staff has been busy developing new ways to continue to serve the community.

“We are working on digital engagement strategies for the museum.  Though we are mostly planning social media events and campaigns at first, we are also looking at how we might create a digital BAM moving forward," Holstein said.  "One example is that we are looking at creating an online exhibition for the senior art students, in partnership with A-State art faculty, that would be available through our website. This project will give community and family members the opportunity to celebrate the hard work and commitment of the senior art studio graduates without the need to be in the space.”

The schedule change at BAM will continue until further notice.  New digital initiatives from BAM will be announced when ready.  For more details, one may contact Holstein, gholstein@astate.edu or (870) 972-3687.
