Bluegrass Monday Welcomes Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers on Oct. 27

10/16/2025

JONESBORO – Gary Brewer and the Kentucky Ramblers will perform a concert of bluegrass music on Monday, Oct. 27, at 7 p.m. at the Collins Theatre, 120 West Emerson Street, in Paragould. The event is part of the Bluegrass Monday concert series presented by KASU 91.9 FM.

Brewer formed the first Kentucky Ramblers band in 1980 when he was only a teenager. He recorded 29 studio albums for several record labels before establishing his own label, Stretch Grass Music, and went on to produce an additional 22 albums.

He is now signed to the prestigious Pinecastle Records label, and his first album for this renowned producer of bluegrass music is scheduled for release in 2026.

Brewer is part of a family whose musical heritage crosses six generations, stretching back to the 1920s. Two of Gary Brewer’s adult sons perform with him as the Kentucky Ramblers: Wayne, who sings, plays fiddle and plays upright bass, along with Mason, who sings, plays mandolin and also plays upright bass.

Brewer’s 2020 album, 40th Anniversary Celebration, spent 16 weeks at the number one position on Billboard Magazine’s bluegrass album sales chart and a total of 72 weeks in the top five, becoming the third best-selling bluegrass CD of 2021.

In his career, Brewer has recorded with major bluegrass artists including Bill Monroe, J.D. Crowe, Doyle Lawson, Russell Moore, Sam Bush and Ralph Stanley II. He has performed in all 50 states, 19 countries, at the Grand Ole Opry, Lincoln Center in New York City and at numerous noteworthy bluegrass festivals and venues.

In addition to bluegrass music, Brewer and his band perform country music, gospel music and old-time music. More details can be found at www.brewgrass.com.

The admission fee to the Bluegrass Monday concert is $10 per person, payable by cash at the door the night of the concert. Everyone aged 18 and under will be admitted free. Tickets can be purchased online. All ticket proceeds go to the musicians, compensating them for their performance.

Groups of eight or more may request reserved seating by contacting KASU’s Marty Scarbrough. Otherwise, the theatre doors open at 6 p.m. and seating is first-come, first-served.

Acoustic musicians are invited to participate in a bluegrass music jam session to begin at 5 p.m. in the Joe Wessell Building, adjacent to the Collins Theatre. A section of seats in the theatre will be reserved for jammers and their guests so that they can play until the concert begins.

The Bluegrass Monday concert series is a non-profit presentation of KASU-FM, providing music fans with an affordable and outstanding evening of family-friendly entertainment. The concerts are held on the fourth Monday night of each month except July and December.

They are presented with support from sponsors including the Paragould Advertising & Promotion Commission, Bibb Chiropractic Center, Gardner-Milner Law Firm, the Posey Peddler, Kiss the Cook, Holiday Inn Express and Suites of Paragould and KASU.
