ASBTDC to Host Retirement Readiness Seminar

JONESBORO — The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center is hosting Thrivent financial advisor Luann Gregory as she presents “Financial Retirement Planning.” Gregory will talk about the difference in IRA and 401k plans and which ones might be beneficial to the small business owner.

The seminar will be held in the A-State Delta Center for Economic Development on Wednesday, July 27, from 9-10 a.m. This event is $35 for the public and is free for A-State faculty, staff and students. Seating is limited and pre-registration is required. To register, call (870) 972-3517 or visit http://asbtdc.org/training/jonesboro-events to register online.

Finance and retirement expert Rick Pendykoski wrote in his article, “6 Steps for Small Business Owners Saving for Retirement” published in Small Business Trends, “Retirement no longer means relegating to a restful armchair. Today, retirement is the biggest risk facing entrepreneurs who are already struggling with the challenges of running a small business in a fiercely competitive market.”

If you’re self-employed or own a small business and haven’t established a retirement savings plan, a strategy can help the owner and employees save for the future.

Reasonable accommodations to the seminar for persons with disabilities will be made if requested in advance. Contact Kelli Listenbee, A-State SBTDC training specialist and business consultant, at (870) 972-3517.
