05/01/2015

JONESBORO — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) at Arkansas State University is hosting a small business technology transfer seminar that will help small business entrepreneurs and their research partners to receive federal funding.

“Getting Started with the SBIR/STTR Federal Funding Program” is scheduled for Wednesday, May 6, from 1-3 p.m., in the Delta Center for Economic Development at Arkansas State, 319 University Loop Circle. This program is available free of charge to all A-State faculty, staff and students.

This classroom-training event will introduce innovative research and entrepreneurs to the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) program. Through SBIR/STTR, small businesses along with their research partners can apply for and receive federal awards to support commercial development of product ideas.

This two-hour workshop provides basic information about the program, including how to determine where product ideas fit within agency research topic areas. Participants are encouraged to ask questions throughout the workshop, which will be tailored to address areas of interest.

Pre-registration is required for each seminar. To register, call (870) 972-3517, or visit the ASBTDC training calendar at asbtdc.org.

Reasonable accommodations for persons with disabilities will be made if requested in advance. Contact Kelli Listenbee, A-State SBTDC training specialist and business consultant, at (870) 972-3517.
