Arkansas State’s SBTDC to offer “How to Create a Winning Marketing Plan” workshop Feb. 19 in Mountain Home
February 13, 2013
JONESBORO, Ark. – Standing out in the crowd of competitors to get your marketing message
across to potential customers has always been a challenge for small businesses. Fortunately,
with today’s technology small businesses can stand out and use cutting edge tools
to grow their business.
The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC)
and the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce are offering a “How to Write a Winning
Marketing Plan” seminar on Tuesday, February 19, from 1-4 p.m. at the Baxter County
Library, 300 Library Hill Road, Mountain Home.
The seminar will enable attendees to share innovative and easy-to-master tools that
small business owners can use for little or no cost to improve marketing message and
grow their business.
“Eighty-nine percent of small business owners said that marketing was the top priority
for their success; yet 73 percent admitted that they did not have any type of marketing
plan,” stated Herb Lawrence, ASU SBTDC director. “The challenge for most of these
small businesses is that they feel that they lack the resources, time, or knowledge
to create such a plan.
“In this workshop we will show small business owners how to create and use a plan
that will actually save them time, use existing resources more effectively, and help
them reach new customers to improve their bottom line.”
A simple marketing plan will help small businesses learn how to focus on their very
best customers, how to locate them, communicate with them, and drive more sales to
their business with less effort. In this short three-hour workshop attendees will
receive the tools they need and the resources to actually create a plan that will
significantly improve their marketing efforts and bring more customers to their business.
Cost is $35 per person or $25 for Mountain Home and Norfork Lake Chamber of Commerce
members, $20 for ASU-Mountain Home faculty, staff and students. To register, contact
the Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center at
