A-State’s 47th Annual Convocation of Scholars Ceremonies and Activities are Underway
JONESBORO – The 47th annual Convocation of Scholars at Arkansas State University, which continues through April into May, features a series of special events recognizing top graduating students and faculty.
The annual presentation of the R.E. Lee Wilson Citizenship Award and the Distinguished Service Awards (DSA) will be Thursday evening, April 24. The Wilson Award and DSAs are A-State's top awards for graduating students. Recipients and immediate families will gather for the event at Cooper Alumni Center.
The 15th annual Create@State Symposium of Research, Scholarship and Creativity involves numerous students in scholarly and artistic presentations Thursday, April 24, on the third floor of Reng Student Union. The awards ceremony will be during a drop-in reception from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 25, in the Woodard McAlister Family Club in Centennial Bank Stadium. During Faculty Honors Convocation, which was April 3, the recipient of the Chancellor’s Medal for Research and Creative Activities and recipients of the Faculty Achievement Awards were announced.
The campus Excellence Awards ceremony will be at noon Wednesday, April 23, conducted by the Division of Access and Institutional Engagement. The awards recognize the outstanding work of campus stakeholders who have demonstrated the highest commitment to enhancing excellence through access and inclusion.
The 30th annual Delta Symposium, with a theme of “It’s About Time,” will be Wednesday through Friday, April 9-11. The full conference schedule is online. The Department of English, Philosophy and World Languages sponsors the symposium, with co-sponsorship this year by Black River Technical College.
