78th Communications Day to Feature Area High School Students

JONESBORO — High school students around the state will have a chance to test their journalistic skills as they compete in the 78th Annual Communications Day, Saturday, March 5. The event is organized and hosted by Arkansas State University’s College of Media and Communication. 

The day of competition gets underway at 8 a.m. and runs until 3 p.m. in the Education and Communications Building, 330 University Loop Circle.

The competition includes 20 contests for the Arkansas high school students, including television reporting, television sports, news reporting, documentary short, sports programming, music video, television commercial, public service announcement, print newspaper and website publication.

Entry forms are located at http://www.astate.edu/college/communications/competitions/annual-communications-day.dot. Submissions are due, by 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 25. Awards will be presented to first, second, third place and honorable mention winners. The school accumulating the highest number of points for the day will receive the sweepstakes.
