About VMCAS

For prospective students and families unfamiliar with VMCAS, this service is a centralized application platform for the majority of AVMA COE-accredited DVM programs. On this platform, prospective DVM students complete one application and submit supporting documents, such as transcripts, directly to VMCAS. VMCAS then distributes these application materials to the veterinary colleges designated by the applicant. Please note that the application fees paid to VMCAS are retained by the service and are not received by the A-State College of Veterinary Medicine.

Supplemental Application

Once applicants have completed their application through VMCAS, a link will be emailed to the applicant starting in June 2026 allowing for the completion of the A-State Supplemental Application, application fee payment, and supporting documents to be uploaded such as proof of Arkansas residency and english proficiency scores for international applicants.

Reapplying DVM Students

DVM students who are on academic probation or were dismissed may apply as new students. Applications from these applicants will only be considered if the applicant agrees to providing written permission to A-State CVM to receive all records from the previous CVM (if requested) and their Slate/VMCAS application includes:

A-State CVM will not consider transfer or new admission applications from individuals who were dismissed for violations of professionalism policies, student conduct rules, academic integrity, honor codes, or any similar reasons.
