The Beck College of Science & Mathematics prepares our students through innovative teaching and hands-on research experiences for a highly successful place in the workforce. Our graduates are teaching in classrooms in every county of the state, working as physicians, dentists, pharmacists, and veterinarians, and throughout Arkansas and beyond as scientists in industry, technology, research laboratories, and as university professors.

The Arkansas Biosciences Institute is an 82,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that serves as a primary hub for our two Ph.D. programs: Molecular Biosciences and Environmental Sciences.

Bearitage Environmental Field Station

Whitehall, AR
The Bearitage Environmental Field Station is a 1,200-square-foot research facility on a 1,280-acre private tract owned by Mr. Scott House. It's focused on wetland and bottomland hardwood restoration within an agricultural landscape.

Center of Quantitative Fisheries Ecology

Norfolk, VA
The CQFE at Old Dominion University houses specialized labs, as well as resident and international researchers and graduate students studying fish populations using advanced analysis of hard tissues.

A-State Jonesboro Campus
The Ecotoxicology Research Facility at A-State offers hands-on research opportunities in environmental science and supports testing of water safety for cities and industries. Students work across departments like biology, chemistry, and engineering.

Judd Hill Plantation

Poinsett County, AR
The Judd Hill Foundation supports agricultural research on innovative farming practices such as seed development, irrigation, pest control, and soil and water conservation.

Mammoth Spring National Fish Hatchery, established in 1903, uses cool spring water to support conservation and restoration of native and endangered fish species, including paddlefish, sturgeon, and freshwater mussels.

The National Center for Toxicological Research (NCTR) is the FDA’s internationally recognized toxicology facility, conducting research to support regulatory decisions and protect public health.

Oxford, MS
The University of Mississippi Field Station is a 740-acre research and education site serving university researchers, schools, and agencies studying regional environmental systems.

The USDA-ARS National Sedimentation Laboratory conducts research on soil erosion, stream sedimentation, water quality, and the ecological impact of agricultural contaminants on U.S. watersheds.
