Applicants must complete all required application documents prior to the August 1st deadline of the application year:
- Be a graduate of a CAPTE accredited physical therapist program.
- Provide proof of licensure or eligibility of licensure by the Arkansas State Board of Physical Therapy (ASBPT). If a participant is awaiting scores from the National Physical Therapy Examination from a July test date, participants must provide proof of licensure by August 15th.
- Be a member of American Physical Therapy Association.
- Completion of pelvic health/floor level 1 continuing education coursework prior to application deadline. Additionally, one additional pelvic floor course (level 2) is required prior to beginning the residency.
- Submit current curriculum vitae, including all continuing education courses attended and academic history (physical therapy graduation GPA).
- Submit a personal narrative describing your career goals, professional and community activities, continuing education courses completed. Also, answers to the following questions:
- Why have you chosen the A-State and APTE Women’s Health Physical Therapy Residency?
- How do you believe this program will facilitate the accomplishment of your professional goals?
- Submit reference letters from three physical therapists, one of whom should be a previous instructor.

Candidates will be scored based upon the submitted curriculum vitae, graduate GPA, completion of pelvic floor courses, personal statement and reference letters. The Admissions Committee will select the top 5 candidates for the first round of interviews, which will be completed by teleconference. The Committee will narrow the candidate pool down to the top 3 candidates. In the final round, the top 3 candidates will participate in an in-person interview at Advanced Physical Therapy. The final candidate will be selected for the residency.
