In addition to traditional teaching, research, advising, and other responsibilities, faculty now have to stay on the leading edge of technology as it is introduced in the classroom setting. From smart boards to online teaching tools and evolving software platforms, staying informed is essential to maximizing the learning experience.

The Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) provides the resources and opportunities A-State faculty need to excel in teaching, research, and service. Our vision is to create a dynamic resource center that supports faculty in becoming leaders in instructional practice, scholarly inquiry, and community engagement—empowering them to thrive in the modern teaching landscape.

  • Instructional Design Support: One-on-one guidance for designing or redesigning courses to align with learning outcomes and student needs.
  • Technology Integration: Help with incorporating tools like Canvas, Kaltura, and other platforms into your teaching practice.
  • Faculty Innovation Resources: Access to media creation tools, studio support, and emerging technologies for instructional content.
  • Mentorship & Consultations: Personalized support through peer mentorship and expert consultations on teaching challenges.

A-State’s Partnership with ACUE: Empowering Educators Through Excellence

Since joining forces with the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE), the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning has supported faculty in earning nationally recognized certification in effective college instruction. Through multiple cohorts, A-State faculty have deepened their teaching practice, strengthened student engagement, and fostered inclusive learning environments across disciplines.
