This summer, Information Technology Services (ITS) at Arkansas State University will have several opportunities for faculty, staff and students to learn about new technology on campus.

JONESBORO – This summer, Information Technology Services (ITS) at Arkansas State University will have several opportunities for faculty, staff and students to learn about new technology on campus.

The A-State Campus community currently uses Duo Two-Factor Authentication but will be moving to the Microsoft Authenticator by late June. Training sessions for the transition will be held from Monday, June 15, through Friday, Aug. 28.

“Microsoft Authenticator is already available for use with Microsoft 365. Using it early will help ensure a smooth transition with little to no disruption when Duo is phased out,” said Samuel Scott, computer support technician. “Campus users are encouraged to prepare ahead of time by installing Microsoft Authenticator and following the step‑by‑step instructions in the Knowledge Base.”

In-person and online instruction will be available to ensure everyone has the opportunity to learn in the best format for individual learning styles.

Another training session taking place over the summer is for Slate.

“Monthly Slate trainings are designed for FERPA-trained faculty and staff who are active users in Slate,” added Kris Keys, assistant director of customer relationship management administration.

Details about the sessions and the current schedule can be found on Knowledge Base. Those who are active on Slate will receive an email notification ahead of each session.
