Members of the Arkansas State University and northeast Arkansas community gathered on Monday morning, Jan. 19, to celebrate the life and legacy of Civil Rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who would have turned 92 years old this month.

Jonesboro -- Members of Arkansas State University and northeast Arkansas communities gathered Monday, Jan. 19, to celebrate the life and legacy of civil rights leader Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who would have turned 92 this month. The parade, organized by the NEA MLK Jr. Day Parade Committee in conjunction with A-State, kicked off at 10:30 a.m. from the Lt. Col. Frederick C. Turner Jr. Military Science Building. Participants, dancers and band members walked along Marion Berry Parkway and East Johnson Avenue before ending at Fowler Center on campus ahead of a noon program.
