A-State Faculty Members Participate in ACUE Pinning Ceremony

September 16, 2026
Recently, several A-State faculty members completed ACUE training and participated in a pinning ceremony.

JONESBORO – A pinning ceremony was held earlier this month for the 33 faculty members at Arkansas State University who have earned the prestigious Effective Teaching certification through the Association of College and University Educators (ACUE).

Petra Kohlmann, senior partnership director at ACUE, attended the event.

“Special thanks to Dr. Melanie Wicinski and Dr. Jill Simons for their leadership and for making the evening such a thoughtful celebration of A-State's faculty,” said Kohlmann.

This was the fifth cohort to go through the program. A-State now has 136 ACUE certified faculty members.

ACUE is nationally recognized for its year-long professional development program, providing educators with evidence-based teaching practices.

Training for a new cohort in the ACUE certification is currently underway.
