University Community Mourns Death of Student

JONESBORO – The Arkansas State University community today is mourning the death of Abby Pennington, a sophomore animal science pre-veterinary medicine major from Benton.

Chancellor Kelly Damphousse issued the following statement:

"We join her family and friends in mourning Abby's passing. The university will make counseling available to any A-State student, faculty or staff members who desire it."

The Counseling Center, located in the Reng Student Union, may be contacted at 972-2318.

The family is planning a candlelight vigil from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Saline County Courthouse in Benton.
