Small Business and Technology Development Center to Host Patent Seminar

JONESBORO – A workshop designed to be a practical guide to patents, copyrights and
trademarks is being offered by the Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology
Development Center (ASBTDC) Thursday, Sept. 17, from 1:30-4 p.m. The workshop, “Intellectual
Property and Patents: Turning Ideas into Assets,” will be held in the Delta Center
for Economic Development, 319 University Loop Circle.
Joe Calhoun, registered patent attorney with the Calhoun Law Firm, will instruct the
workshop. Attendees can learn about legal fundamentals in the acquisition of patents,
copyrights and trademark rights. The workshop will also provide information on the
basics of how to protect intellectual property rights and how to avoid or react to
other claims of infringement.
