Ken Corbit is the November Professor of the Month

November 05, 2015
In his communications course, Ken Corbit discovered he needed a different method that related the real-world techniques of practitioners to his students. His "Three A's" changed outcomes for his students. For his work in the classroom, Corbit was selected by the Learning Outcomes Advisory Council and Office of Assessment as their November 2015 professor of the month.

JONESBORO – "The replication was there, but the application was missing."

That's why Ken Corbit, instructor in the College of Media & Communication, implemented a new paradigm to boost his teaching effectiveness.

Corbit’s "Three A's" technique focuses on how students acquire, articulate and apply their knowledge.

For his work in the classroom, Corbit was selected by the Learning Outcomes Advisory Committee and Office of Assessment for the A-State professor of the month recognition.

Assessment is one of the ways A-State supports its mission to educate leaders, enhance intellectual growth and enrich lives. Corbit and one of his students, Levi Crawford, talk about classroom effectiveness in this video.
