More than 50 students from the Arkansas State Honors College extended their knowledge of the Cold War era from the classroom lectures the prior semester into visits to the locations and people they studied. The group spent two weeks abroad and visited sites in Germany, Poland, Czech Republic, Hungary, and Austria.

Auschwitz
In this video, released on the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz, students reflect on their solemn visit to the Auschwitz-Birkenau concentration camp.
Week 1 Highlights
After a few hiccups with their flight arrangements, the travelers arrive at Berlin for a walking tour of the city centre, including the Berliner Dome. During the first week, they also visit the Stasi Museum, the Berlin Wall, Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial, Sanssouci and Cecilienhof, Prague.
