A-State has many programs that have achieved specialized accreditation and all programs follow the accreditation process prescribed by the accrediting agency. Specialized accredited program leaders are not required to submit a copy of the self-study report to the Office of Academic Affairs but they may request assistance while writing the report if needed. Moreover, the following items are required by the Office of Academic Affairs:
- Date of the accrediting agency’s site visit must be submitted to the Office of Academic Affairs at least 30 days prior to the campus arrival
- A representative from the Office of Academic Affairs must be included in the exit or final meeting; there may be other meetings or luncheons as well but the exit meeting is necessary to better understand the status of the program
- The re/affirmation letter and report must be submitted to the Office of Academic Affairs within two weeks of receipt.
In the rare circumstance that a program is asked to submit an interim report or conduct a focus visit due to deficiencies in achieving the accreditor’s standards, all correspondence must be provided to the Office of Academic Affairs within two weeks of receipt. All correspondence between A-State and accrediting agencies is then submitted to Arkansas Department of Higher Education and the Higher Learning Commission.
The following table identifies the program and year in which the program’s accreditor will visit the A-State campus:
