Welcome to Arkansas State University!

Imaging Cytation5Classical upright and inverted microscopes, a modern bioimager, and a state-of-the-art scanning electron microscope (SEM) are part of this unit. Sample visualizations involving bright field, phase contrast, confocal, fluorescence, and Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) are possible to be done with fixed or living samples.

The Agilent/Bio-Tek Cytation 5 offers up to 60X magnification of samples in fluorescence, brightfield, high contrast brightfield, color brightfield, and phase contrast applications, as well as live imaging with the support of a CO2/O2 gas and temperature controller. If needed, the multimode detection modules of this instrument include filter- and monochromator-based fluorescence detection, luminescence, and UV-visible absorbance detection.

The sec SNE-4500M Plus SEM is a motorized 5-axis stage microscope with a magnification power of 150,000X and a resolution of 5 nm. Its beam energy of 1-30 kV is convenient for image optimization of a wide diversity of samples.
