The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) and the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) are teaming up to offer a special workshop, Every Door Direct Mail, Tuesday, March 27, from 1-4 p.m. in Room 110, ASU Delta Center for Economic Development, 319 University Loop Circle.

The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) and the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) are teaming up to offer a special workshop, “Every Door Direct Mail,” Tuesday, March 27, from 1-4 p.m. in Room 110, ASU Delta Center for Economic Development, 319 University Loop Circle.

The new ‘Every Door Direct Mail’ service is the first of several U.S. Postal Service initiatives to help grow a business with the mail more efficient and affordable. Postal experts will demonstrate how to select a campaign message, target an audience and prepare mailings.

“’Every Door Direct Mail’ is the post office’s new program for small businesses wanting to reach potential customers in their local area,” said Herb Lawrence, center director for the ASU SBTDC. “The USPS mapping tool helps target mailing routes by neighborhood, zip code or city around your business to identify the number of active households and businesses in your selected area.

“More importantly, the Postal Service’s ‘Every Door Direct Mail’ program costs a fraction of typical direct mail campaigns with very low postage cost for mailers, not requiring a mail permit, or even mail list.”

The speakers will be Kelley Wyatt, Senior Business Solutions Specialist with the U.S. Postal Service, and Robert Bahn, Business Consultant for the ASU SBTDC.

The seminars are being co-sponsored by the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, East Arkansas Planning and Development District, Downtown Jonesboro Association (DJA), First Security Bank, Liberty Bank of Arkansas and Simmons First Bank.

Registration is $35 per person ($25 for Jonesboro Chamber and DJA members, and $20 for ASU Faculty, staff and students). To register or for more information, contact the ASU SBTDC (870) 972-3517 or e-mail asusbtdc@astate.edu or register online at http://asbtdc.ualr.edu/training.asp.
