ASU SBTDC to present Intellectual Property and Patents workshop March 15

The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) is offering a special workshop, Intellectual Property and Patents: Turning Ideas into Assets - A Practical Guide to Patents, Copyrights and Trademarks, Thursday, March 15. The seminar runs from 1:15-4:30 p.m. in Room 110, ASU Delta Center for Economic Development, 319 University Loop Circle.

The Arkansas State University Small Business and Technology Development Center (SBTDC) is offering a special workshop, “Intellectual Property and Patents: Turning Ideas into Assets — A Practical Guide to Patents, Copyrights and Trademarks,” Thursday, March 15. The seminar runs from 1:15-4:30 p.m. in Room 110, ASU Delta Center for Economic Development, 319 University Loop Circle.

The instructors will be Joe Calhoun and Rashauna A. Norment, both registered patent attorneys with Calhoun Law Firm in Little Rock. The workshop will provide attendees with legal fundamentals of acquisition of patents, copyrights and trademark rights. It will also provide information on the basics of how to protect intellectual property rights and how to avoid or react to other claims of infringement.

Registration is $40 per person ($30 for Jonesboro Chamber of Commerce and Downtown Jonesboro Association members, and $20 for ASU faculty, staff and students). The workshop is also approved for three hours of continuing legal education credit.
